Hello, good evening and welcome to my brea... er, blog

First of all, if you're reading this, welcome and thank you!  I hope to provide a small modicum of diversion and perhaps amusement on this rather chilly October evening.

Why am I writing in that mannered, vaguely 18th century style?  It must be the influence of the title picture, which I found when searching for an image of corset being tied, to illustrate the title of this blog.  I was actually looking for something of this nature:

...but then found the other, which amused me, so I used that instead.

The title?  It occurred to me that the phrase "budgetary constraints" has a slightly rakish ring to it - I could imagine it as the name of a purveyor of corsetry, and perhaps other, more specialised items for those of discerning tastes but limited finances with which to indulge them.   While this blog is not quite so exotic (merely a mundane style blog: picture of the day's outfit followed by description; a brief essay inspired by said outfit; plea for comments, &c) there will be a certain focus on finances, specifically, my lack of them, and my creativity in overcoming this obstacle.

(There may also be corsets.)
